One of the fun things you can do with a smartphone or tablet is save browser bookmarks to your home page as a single-tap icon that takes you to that page just as if it were an app. You could do this, for example, to make your own local weather "app" that accesses a nearby WeatherLink weather station that provides much more location-specific data than you can get from most weather apps and online weather services.
