Earlier this year, Majical Cloudz released their stirring debut, Impersonator, filled with evocative lyrics and sparse, goosebump- inducing beats. “Savage” is the latest track from Devon Welsh and Matthew Otto, and it employs the same haunting, confrontational style of songwriting, tinged with a biting hint of regret. As Welsh wrote:
“‘Savage” is about a friendship, its mysteries and its moments of excitement, and the way drugs played into all of it. It’s about letting go of a relationship as it changes and the emotions that go along with that.”
