Majical Cloudz weave a tragic, beautifully melancholy tale of lost innocence on “Childhood’s End.” Unfortunately for our narrator, things look bleak from the very start; “Someone died. Gun. Shot,” vocalist Devon Welsh sings steadily, methodically. The track is the first single from Majical Cloudz’s upcoming debut, Impersonator, which follows 2012′s memorable Turns Turns Turns EP. With each release, the Montreal duo further solidify themselves as one of electronic’s most promising new acts. Majical Cloudz are minimal and sparse enough to score comparisons to James Blake, but moving and dreamy enough to be classified as far more accessible, and also more exciting.
