These are romantic wedding photographs with a compelling atmosphere to them. They are quiet, and joyful, and heartwarming — thanks to wedding photographer Ben Pipe.
Words are by Sarah and Matt. (My favorite words are about waiters in clown suits… towards the end. Brilliant — and just so apt for my wedding blog.) This kind of wedding makes me love what I do. To bits.

We were married on the 9th December 2011 at Athelhampton House, Dorset. The reception also took place here. The idea was to get married between our birthdays which happen to fall around Christmas time. This made the occasion extra special as the Christmas decorations and tree were up and everyone was in great spirits. We were extremely lucky with the weather and we got the one sunny day of the week which made for a much happier feel and some stunning photographs from Ben.

Matt wore a custom made suit from “A Suit That Fits” (London west end branch). His shoes were from Russell & Bromley. All of the groom’s party wore royal blue silk ties as a salute to his favorite football club Everton FC.

Memorable wedding day moments
On our first dance I found out that Matt had recorded his version of “God only knows” by the beach boys which made me and a few people cry… happy tears!
Wedding day advice
Don’t listen to ANYONE else apart from each other. It’s YOUR day, you will only ever do it once so make it yours. If you don’t want speeches, don’t have speeches! If you want the waiters to be dressed as clowns, phone the circus and start booking the costumes! Always try to come back to the reason why you are doing this in the first place: each other.
