While you would think that it was the perfect dusty rose or classic red lipstick that would fly off shelves, when it comes to trendsetting makeup brand, M.A.C Cosmetics, it’s electric purple that’s a bestseller. At first glance, MAC Heroine matte purple lipstick can seem intimidating. Bold purple can seem like a difficult color to pull off, but celebrities like Lorde and Rooney Mara prove that it’s certainly a wearable, red-carpet-ready shade.
MAC. Heroine is permanent – electric purple lipstick
When this shade launched it just was a straight sell out, it shocked absolutely nobody that MAC Heroine had a fan base so fast on MAC’s website. MAC Heroine has a creamy consistency that glides on well without tugging or pulling on the lips. It has full, opaque color coverage and wears well for six hours and does leave a reddish stain behind. It’s neither drying nor hydrating.

MAC Heroine Lipstick ($15.00 for 0.10 oz.) is described as a “bright violet/purple.” It’s a medium-dark, red-toned purple with a satin finish. MAC Heroine was part of The MAC Fashion Sets Collection for Summer 2013 featuring four MAC Lipsticks in the four corresponding theme shades of the collection. This limited-edition collection featured matching sets of Eye Shadows, Lipsticks, Lip glasses, Nail Lacquers and Lip Pencils for a sophisticated play on monotone makeup.
The lipsticks in the collection had the standard MAC Lipstick packaging. All four lipsticks in the collection were matte, which was the best finish for these shades and MAC did a very good job with their matte formula, making them more comfortable while still being very long-wearing and richly pigmented.
