Our eyes are opening, our pupils are enlarging and we are absorbing the amazing view of Dubai at night. It's 1am and the street is full of cars that overtake on a seven-lane road, trumpeting every now and then. Ma'am look here - it's Burj Khalifa! We look and do not believe that our dreams are becoming reality. The lights on Burj Khalifa flash like a Christmas tree, reminding us and the city that it is the tallest building in the world. In the distance you can also see the sail, i.e. the famous Burj al Arab. Sheikhs made sure that it could not be overlooked. I have to pinch myself because I still can't believe my eyes - we're in Dubai.

We reach the hotel, we check in quickly. Boy asks us if Poland is next to Finland, we answer with a smile under his breath that he is not, but looking from his perspective it is exactly like that. In the room we find that despite the late hour we will go out for a short walk. By changing the time we lost 3 hours, and yet we are not sleepy. We are in the old part of Dubai - there are no incredibly high skyscrapers here, and the streets are walked by almost all Arabs and Indians, and I have the impression that I am the only woman on this street. We are going to buy a coke to a nearby store and we are happy to say that prices do not frighten us. It is the middle of the night, the city is alive, from nearby clubs you can hear the sound of rumbling music and we notice young ladies in short mini going in that direction. Apparently, Allah can't see at night. That's probably too much for today. Time to go to sleep.

My favorite reading before going to Dubai was ... reading about Dubai. I spent long hours inspired by Mercy Shan vlogs , admiring beautiful photos of Maryla from the Addicted To Passion blog , browsing Visit Dubai and Magic Dubai and reading Bedouins on Instagram and guide . And you know what? Believe it or not, you can't see it on your computer screen, tell it or read it. You just have to see this world with your own eyes, collide with it and love or hate it. Dubai is incredibly diverse, ambiguous and fascinating. A bit artificial and colored. Supposedly Bangkok is addictive - definitely the same can be said about Dubai.
