It's probably the hottest day of the year today, it leaves a conundrum, my skins is still shredding from last weeks sunburn but it seems a shame to stay indoors. I was in the Derbyshire village of Bakewell selling Beaumont Bags but customers were scarse as they were feeding the ducks, enjoying the sunshine. Boredom was cured mid-afternoon when the annual carnival took over the streets for an hour or so.
There was a parade of floats, marching bands, cheerleaders, men in drag, men on bikes and some chaps dressed as characters from Mary Poppins doing the Gangham Style dance, obvs. A lot of effort went into the whole thing, luckily they picked a top weekend (weather-wise) for it to take place and the pavements were flooded with locals and tourists. Here's the photos I managed to take without getting getting burnt once again.
