I've been having eyelash extensions for the past six months and recently had them removed as I was growing tired of the constant upkeep and cost involved. I love the look they gave but I just couldn't be bothered any more, so when Sophie, the beautician at work told me about this revolutionary alternative to lash extensions called LVL, I was all ears and soon after booked myself in to have them done on my day off.
LVL lashes will give you length volume and lift using just your own eyelashes. They don't use any harsh perming techniques and is designed to straighten your lashes rather than curling to create longer and thicker lashes. The treatment itself takes 45 minutes and last for 6 weeks. It costs £50 which means it is not only low maintenance it is also cost effective when compared to eyelash extensions.
Sophie started off gently cleansing my eyelashes and the surrounding area to make sure there was no residue of mascara or dirt and oil. She then taped down my bottom lashes so they were up of the way. A silicone shield was placed on my eyelid and this is what helps lift the eyelashes from the roots. Using a form of glue, my eyelashes were then 'glued' to the shield making sure they were dead straight, she also fanned out my eyelashes to make a more of a dramatic look. Once this was done, a straightening solution was applied for ten minutes of so, then that was wiped away and a setting lotion was applied for five minutes, that was then also wiped away then she tinted my eyelashes jet black to enhance their natural look even more. Once the tinted was complete she ensured that all traced of product was removed and then applied a serum to my eyelashes.
Sophie than gave me an after care package including a brush and some serum to use daily on my eyelashes. She also told me that for the next 24 hours I couldn't wet or rub my lashes, apply any cream to my eyes, apply mascara, use a sauna or go swimming.
After the treatment was done and she handed me the mirror I was genuinely gob smacked. I couldn't believe how good they looked, my eyelashes actually touched my eyebrows! The were perfectly fanned, long, lifted, jet black, thick, but the thing about them I liked the most, which actually shocked me, was how natural and chic they looked compared to how fake I use to like them looking. I would without a doubt, 100% recommend this treatment to everyone. I will definitely be having this again, and will be perfected for when I'm holiday!
LVL lashes requires a patch test 24 hours prior to the treatment you can find your nearest salon here.
What do you think of LVL lashes? Would you have it done? Do you think the treatment is better than eyelash extensions? I'd love to know!
P.S. Apologises for the quality of the photos and of my skin!
