NFL players have long been known not only for their plays on the field but also the bling they wear on a daily basis. While many sport necklaces, bracelets and Superbowl rings, a lot of NFL players can be identified simply by the type and style of watch that they wear.
For instance, Jason Pierre-Paul, a defensive end for the New York Giants, made sure to sport a stylish watch during the NFL draft in 2010. When he was chosen as a first round draft pick by the New York team, he was wearing a black diamond watch that was created by Florida designer A.J. Machado. It was noticeable not only at the event but also on the television as well, as the diamonds glittered across the screen.
Mario Williams, a defensive end for the Buffalo Bills, is known for favoring watches with a big face on them. While he certainly isn’t lacking for cash, as he is the richest defensive end in the league, his tastes are more modest. He is seen wearing a $275 Nautica watch in a recent GQ shoot.
On the other hand, DeMarcus Ware, a linebacker for the Dallas Cowboys, models a more luxurious watch. He is seen wearing a $3,800 Tag Heuer watch, which is also noted for its large face.
The watches that NFL players wear tend to set the tone for what everyone else looks for in a watch during the coming fashion seasons. If they are seen at a press conference wearing watches with large faces, chances are that’s what you will start seeing popping up in the department stores. In addition to being well known for their plays on the football field, NFL players are also known for setting trends and becoming fashion icons.
