Lunch at Pizza Express.

LUNCH AT PIZZA EXPRESS.Mark and I are huge Pizza fanatics, we just can't seem to get enough of them, so when we were invited to sample the new express lunch menu at Pizza Express our answer was of course a huge "YES, WE'D LOVE TO!".

We went to the restaurant in the Mailbox in Birmingham, such a beautiful location right by the Birmingham canals. Luckily it was a beautiful sunny day and we were able to get window seats, which seemed to keep Mark entertained for a while as he got to watch the ducks. We had a bit of a nightmare getting there and was a little late to our reservation as Mark had to hobble there (a nasty accident involving his foot and a wooden plank with a nail in) but the staff were really understanding. The assistant manager Lukasz, who was really friendly came out to welcome us which I thought was a really lovely touch, the staff were all really friendly and helpful as well which I think makes your dining experience much more enjoyable. The new lunch menu includes lots of new delicious dishes and sides and they're all at a really good price! They're being trailed in selected restaurants so check with your nearest branch if they're one of the selected.

LUNCH AT PIZZA EXPRESS.After ordering drinks, I had a Rose and Mark had a Cider, we ordered food. It was a tough choice to choose as everything sounded delicious! I was torn between the Italian Meat Piadina and the Pomodoro Pesto Romanita Pizza but just had to go for the Pizza, Mark ordered a Pollo ad Astra Romanita Pizza. We also ordered a side of dough balls (a must obviously, yummm) and some Polenta Chips.

All tasted absolutely delightful, I've never had Pizza with Pesto on before but it worked incredibly well I just wish I'd had chicken on there too - you can add on extra toppings if you wish for a small fee. We were pleasantly surprised by the Polenta Chips, neither of us had heard of them before and when ordering them the waitress informed us they weren't made with potato, so we were really intrigued to see what they tasted like - absolutely mouth watering! I'd love some right now to snack on whilst writing this post.

For dessert we ordered something small and sweet to fit in our tummy's, Mark went for Chocolate Brownie Dolcetti which was topped off with a strawberry and accompanied by a Hot Chocolate. I chose a Leggera Raspberry Sorbet Dolcetti with a chocolate straw and fresh mint alongside a cup of tea.

The desserts were beautiful and the presentation was perfect. They fitted in our tummy's perfectly! All in all 100% successful trip! Once we got home we were talking about taking another visit back to Pizza Express that weekend. The food was absolutely delicious and the staff were so friendly and welcoming. I highly recommend taking a trip to Pizza Express next time you're wondering where to dine, the food was perfection! We can't wait to go back... Thank you Pizza Express for a wonderful service, delicious food!

With Love,

Sian x
