So, Chris and I took a chance and headed down to the Bracklesham and Witterings area to see if there was any surf conditions. We went to one spot that was completely flat and with the usual complaints of “bloody south coast” and “chasing rainbows and mirages” we headed for East Wittering.
Result! As predicted in my earlier post, it was really messy and blown out but surfable – just. We decided to bodyboard (which was lucky as we didn’t have our other boards with us -doh!), put on our wetsuits and headed for the sea.
Was it a great waves? not really but it was a cracking little session. Frankly it was just good to be in the ocean and doing what I love. I caught a few waves, but there wasn’t much power behind them so I did the best I could with them. I took out my 42″ NMD evolution board into the water and it performed nicely. I love this board!
There might be some swell tomorrow, so we’re going again. This time I’m taking HMS Watt with me, probably just so Chris can giggle at my attempts to stand up surf.
