Love Yourself Enough to Know Better #KylieJennerLipChallenge

SHAUNTEE

I remember as a child and pre-teen being rather insecure about my lips. My lips in conjunction with my expressive eyes are trademarked features of mine since birth. I find it hilarious and somewhat sad that young women will now go to extreme measures to pull off the #kyliejennerlipchallenge.

What is the purpose and why is it that young women try to emulate the wrong people? Why am I reading about young women lips exploding? That’s crazy, stupid, and so not cute! I guess no one ever told these young women you can achieve fuller lips with makeup.

As my southern elders would say, “I remember way back yonder” when people would make fun of such features. I can remember when people would refer to those with full lips as duck lips, or even fish lips (hell, do fish have lips?). And then there’s my favorite, “soup coolers”. I never understood the phrase, but I’m inclined to think that it meant that your lips were so big that they would cool a hot bowl or soup.

s fast forward about 25 years, I now think my lips right alone with my eyes are probably some of my best features. s beauty in everyone. The biggest challenge I see is people who refuse to be themselves and be comfortable with what was given to them naturally.

What makes someone put their lips in a small glass and suck in as hard as they can? The results are horrific, and they look a hot ass mess! Just for kicks, why don’t we try the #loveyourselfenoughtoknowbetterchallenge
