Louro, 142nd West 10th St in NYC, is a second place (the first having been Gander), my trusted source and former co-host at a website that cannot be named, weinoo, gave us.  And it was a good rec indeed.

I have to do a little ranting and raving here because our dishes (each of us had one) were really terrific; our bi-coastal friend who appeared out of the blue at 6:30 PM tonight had the best sauteed panko(?)-coated black bass I've ever had, Collete's skate was mighty good and my piri piri shrimp were outstanding - all were spicy, zesty and tasty to the nth degree.

Our friend had the hazelnut ice cream with viennoiseries (fitting since he hails from Vienna) and Colette had a rhubarb and ginger concoction with a balsamic reduction; both of which they shared with me (I had overindulged earlier in 4 gigantic oysters and felt no need to eat anything more).

Our bill with a bottle and glass of Malbec Casa de Campo, no bottled water and one coffee, was $146.16, thus $77.44 a couple.

Go?  Boy, you've gotta be crazy to not go to a place like this - best spicy, crispy, seafood of the Year.
