Looking Through a Different Lens: Part 1

By Actuallystrange @ActuallyStrange

Here is part 1 of my not-about-me-but-kind-of-about-me post for the day: Learn to see the world through various lenses, even if they aren’t your own.

My grandmother says everyone views the world through a different lens. I believe this is true. The world is what is, but everyone views it in a different way. I feel that people must learn to view the world through different lenses in order to become more educated and cultured.

There are two main ways to view the world differently and both are valuable: Viewing the world through another person’s lens or viewing the world through an ideological lens.

It’s valuable to view the world as someone else sees it, although it can be difficult. I like to pretend that I’ m the other person. What do I want? What don’t I want? What am I scared of? I believe I mentioned this in another post but trying to view the world as another person does will increase interest in other people and increase your likeability.

That’s it for part 1. I know it’s short but I realised before I posted this that the two parts needed to be separate. You can find Part 2 here (please be warned in advance that it’s…different).
