Naturally, every girl wants to look her best for her prom, so it’s really important that you spend time planning how you are going to look. This is an evening where everybody is going to be taking photos of each other (which will probably end up on Facebook!), so how are you going to make sure that you look a million dollars? In this article we are going to give you some great ideas for pulling together the perfect outfit – read on for our top suggestions:

A couple of weeks before the prom, head out to the shops with your girlfriends and spend time browsing the aisles. Make sure you check out all of the shops, and don’t buy the first thing that you see. It is also worth having a look online to see what is on offer there – but bear in mind that you may need to pay a delivery charge as well. Once you and your friends have decided on your dresses (and made sure that none of you are wearing the same thing!) then it’s time to start thinking about how you are going to accessorize them.

Accessories make or break an outfit, as any girl knows. Choose pieces that really suit your dress and make sure that the colors don’t clash. You will need an evening clutch bag for your makeup and phone, and you’ll also need a gorgeous pair of shoes to set off the dress. Think about a scarf, shawl or pashmina if you are worried that you may need an extra layer should it get cold.

On the day of the prom, you should start getting ready nice and early so you have plenty of time. It is a good idea to plan your hairdo by having a practice go a few days before. That way you will know what you are doing on the day. Some girls choose to go to a professional hairdresser who will create them the perfect ‘up do’. If you’d like to do this then make sure you book your appointment a long time in advance as the chances are that the hairdresser will be in demand. As for your makeup, be careful about wearing too much. A little looks nice, and you can be bold with colors and tones seeing as it is an evening do, but be careful about putting too much foundation on. If you have spots or blemishes then cover them with a concealer rather than trying to hide them with foundation – it will look too thick.

Of course, you will need some stunning jewelry to complete the look, so opt for a classy and timeless pair of diamond earrings or perhaps a silver necklace. Once your look is complete it’s time to go out and hit the dance floor!
