Long May You Run by The Stills-Young Band.

Wow, this was a really hard song to find on Youtube. I wanted the original audio or official video but neither one was on there! I finally decided on a live performance with Neil but the video isn’t the best.

Anyways, I was watching The Wonder Years today and an episode was about the family car. The father, Jack Arnold, really didn’t want to get rid of it. It was constantly breaking down and becoming unreliable no matter how many times he’d fix it. It wasn’t just the idea of putting out the money for a new car though, it was saying goodbye to years worth of memories with the family – including his three kids. Two of which were in high school.

This song is played at the end of the episode after he finally decides to get a new car and the old one is being towed away.

Long May You Run was released in September of 1976 and was a collaboration between Stephen Stills and Neil Young. It went to #26 on the Billboard 200 and was certified Gold in the U.S. by the RIAA.
