After five years of touring all around Barcelona and Europe with one off events and showcases (around 20 since 2007), LiveSoundtracks, a stunning audio visual experiment that brings together cinema and live music, has found itself a space as festival within the walls of the Convent dels Angels, in the MACBA compound.
The concept behind LiveSoundtracks is pretty simple: musicians choose their favorite movies and they perform a live soundtrack for that movie on stage. Simple and effective concept. And absolutely unique. It represents a new way of living cinema and, in a way, being back to the past but with a sight to the future.
Over its eight years of history, Livesoundtracks has hosted many affirmed artists such as Luomo, Alva Noto, AGF, Mika Vainio, The Modernist, Árbol, Lucrecia Dalt, Microfeel y Nika, and this year it will showcase the talent of Brunetto & Xarlene, Emiliano Zelada, Lena Willikens, Sara Fontan and others, across a series of free speeches and events on cinema, music and art in general. If you are in Barcelona and you like what you’ll see below, it may be worth checking it out. More info and tickets at the official website.
