Little Book The Easy Whiskey Review

Little Book Whiskey “The Easy” is the latest release from Jim Beam, is the brainchild of Fred’s son Freddie and named after Booker’s (Fred’s Dad) name for Freddie… Little Book. This release, called The Easy, is the first in a new annual series and the essential idea behind these releases will be that each year it will have a different name and be a different blend of whiskeys.

In Jim Beam’s Words: Little Book Whiskey

“Named in honor of the nickname Freddie’s grandad Booker gave him, Little Book is an annual whiskey series featuring new, unique blends—a first for the family. Uncut, unfiltered* and always one-of-a-kind, each limited release offers Freddie the opportunity to follow his curiosity to create a new taste profile greater than the sum of its parts. From each spirits’ mash bill and age to where they were stored in the rackhouse, there are a million decisions that go into the final blend. The possibilities are endless. Which is good. Because Freddie has no intention of stopping any time soon.”

Now all that’s left is to see how it tastes and smells in the Little Book Whiskey review below!

OVERALL
Little Book Whiskey “The Easy” is good… really good. I was insanely skeptical at first, but after trying it I’m sold. This is a great sipping whiskey with a complex delivery and grace that further unfolds with time, air and a bit of water. I truly wasn’t expecting something this well balanced and approachable.

With water the aroma further develops and brings out notes of toffee, eggnog spice, cocoa and dark fruit. On the palate it doesn’t change much but gets more intense in its delivery. The dovetail from palate to finish gets a slightly herbal pop which adds a nice dimension to theLittle Book Whiskey “The Easy”, but that next level of depth to get it to an A- just never appears. Regardless I’m eager for next year’s release!

SCORE: 89/100 (B+)
