Little Book Chapter 2 Noe Simple Task whiskey is a blend of Kentucky-made rye whiskey (Jim Beam Rye), a 13-year-old Canadian rye and a 40-year-old blended Canadian whisky (Canadian Club). Each of these components were aged in different styles of casks and lended different notes to the final, interesting, product.
No matter what I think of the final product, which we’ll get into in the below review momentarily, I have to say my hat is off to Freddie. Pun intended, blending is no simple task and to constantly work to build something like this and then release it under a historic name is incredible. It’s a unique path he’s chosen in American whiskey.
Little Book Chapter 2 Noe Simple Task whiskey Review: Details and Tasting Notes
In Jim Beam’s Words: Little Book Chapter 2 Noe Simple Task whiskey
Knowing I wanted to blend with Kentucky Straight Rye, I started experimenting with different Canadian whiskies, trying to pull in those fruity and floral notes. They use a lot of different barrels to age up there, so I was able to play around with a lot of different flavors. I was looking for something that would round out the blend and really showcase the nuances of both the American and Canadian whiskies. In the end, I found the 40-year-old whisky and 13-year-old rye helped me achieve exactly what I wanted—a truly balanced and refined whiskey with a nice, lingering finish that’s full of flavor.

Little Book Chapter 2 Noe Simple Task whiskey Review: OVERALL
First off, I definitely like the Little Book Chapter 1 more. It’s a completely different whiskey, but it hits my tastes better than the Little Book Chapter 2 Noe Simple Task does. By no means do I dislike this whiskey, it’s just less dynamic than the first go.
The aroma is remarkably light until you add some water and unleash the rye, which is quite nice and gives it more structure. The palate is more balanced and heavier with a bigger oak presence to go along with the rye spice and sweetness. Water again kicks the rye notes into overdrive but the fruit and oak also open so it retains that balance through the sip and into the finish. It’s a fun whiskey and should do well with rye lovers.
SCORE: 87/100 (B+)
