Well well well, what do we have here? A massive thunderstorm that’s absolutely battering most of the UK at the moment? Well yeah, but more importantly we have a brand new Arctic Monkeys track taken off their upcoming album.
So far we’ve been treated to ‘R U Mine’ ’Do I Wanna Know?’ and its B-side ’2013′, all hinting that the band’s fifth album, AM, will be a riff- heavy behemoth influenced by their time across the pond. ‘Why’d You Only Call Me When You’re High’ features a funky bassline courtesy of Nick and Matt and classically witty lines from Alex. Add in some backing vocals from the band’s mentor Josh Homme and you have yourself a belter of a track, whetting the appetite for AM somehow even more.
AM is due out on September 9th via Domino.
