Like a Lady

HAPPY MONDAY  YA'LL! For the past couple of years I was living with the impression that as an experienced fashion blogger, dressing up any occasion/event was a complete breeze. I was confident about my ability until what seemed to be an overweening statement was disaffirmed,  when I was faced with the challenge of what to wear to my ex-landlord's 90th birthday celebration (a milestone to celebrate indeed ) ?  Both the missing dress-code-hint and my ten pounds weight gain ( thanks to the recent Canada and North Carolina trips) made the situation all the more arduous. Nothing seemed to fit right and whatever worked, to me wasn't occasion appropriate. I wanted something that was dressy, tasteful and that befitted the older crowd gathering. So after an hour of rummaging through my closet, the only contender was this dress, that I chose to wear by itself with a pair of simple peep-toes, a textured clutch and a strand of pearls as the only adornment. To add the punch of color came in my rosy lips.  An overall look that took me an hour and half to put together but well deserved and ladylike ! What say ????
