Pervez MusharrafDismissing former President General (retd) Pervez Musharraf’s appeal against the rejection of his nomination papers from NA-32 Chitral, the Peshawar High Court on Tuesday placed a lifetime ban on him for contest elections.

NA-32 Chitral was the only from the four constituencies from where the returning officer had accepted his nomination papers but Election tribunal overturned the decision and rejected his candidacy and disqualified him for contest elections.

The former president had challenged election tribunal’s decision but PHC upheld the verdict and said that military ruler couldn’t be allowed to partake in elections as he breached the constitution twice and confined the judges in their homes.
