LG Officially Unveils 8.3-Inch Android Phablet

After numerous rumors and a teaser video from the last week, LG has finally lifted the veil of their much – anticipated phablet device  called LG G Pad.

The time has come for the LG to make up for mistakes from the past. With new LG G Pad and its brilliant features, the Korean company is on a way of winning the favor of the phablet lovers. With this device, LG is expanding their G series and will officially debut with the phablet next week at the IFA 2013 trade show in Berlin. For the first time, the manufacturer has confirmed the technical features of the G Pad as the announcement of its release. As some of you already know, the LG G Pad will come with an 8.3-inch display in full HD, but here are some more specs regarding the LG’s new smart device. The G Pad is equipped with a 1920 x 1200 WUXGA (Widescreen Ultra Extended Graphics Array) display with 273 ppi. Under its slim and sleek body there’s a a Qualcomm Snapdragon 600 chipset, with its quad-core Krait 300 CPU clocked at 1.7 GHz. Although the tablet is very light, weighing only 338 grams, the device comes with a powerful battery of 4600 mAh and it features a 5-mega-pixel rear and a 1.3 mega-pixel front-facing camera.

The G Pad will ship with the Android Jelly Bean 4.2.2 operating system along with 2 GB of RAM and 16 GB of internal storage. The new device will also provide several innovative features and apps, such as Knock On, allowing you to turn the display on without using the power button; Q Slide software, for instance, enables three apps to be run on the screen at the same time. Perhaps the most interesting and useful feature is Q Pair, which pairs the tablet with any other Jelly Bean smartphone, allowing the user to receive calls and messages on the G Pad.

The LG G Pad will be available in black and white, starting with North America, Europe and Asia sometime in the fourth quarter of the year. However, there was no mention of how much the new LG tablet will cost, as they have been keeping the price secret until the official debut in Berlin.
