5.6 Les Niçois, 7, rue Lacharriere in the 11th, 09.84.16.55.03, closed Sunday and Monday for dinner, brunch on weekends (Metro: St. Amboise) is another minimalist fascade, tables and chairs and see into kitchen place with an enthusiastic staff, in and out of the kitchen. The chef, one Mélinée Raty (ex-Café de la Paix) has got a nice touch with food from around Nice. And a nice, reasonable wine list starting at 16 E for a Pergola Zangre from the Pays D'Oc which was quite nice, indeed. To boot, they have a 14 E 2 course formula.
My friend from downstairs and I both decided on the carte and started with a small antipasti of assorted seasonable vegetables with olives and parmesan (the large antipasti are charcuties and mozzarella); an entire salmon trout with shaved fennel, grilled aubergine and a scrumptious sauce; and a Baba which was to be plain but was adorned with rhum upond request.
The bill, with no bottled water, pretty good bread and 2 coffees (one made ristretto twice) was 60 E.
Go? Well, if you live nearby, are 35 and under, wear a red baseball cap while eating and are into cocktails and other hip items, this is your place - at 86.4 dB. Oh and their card says petanque although the basement looked to me more suitable for jamming.
