Leopard Remix, Take Two

By Unefemme @DejaPseu

leopard and cobalt blue

Several of you have mentioned that you’d like to see more “remixed” outfits. I hear ya…we’re all trying to get the most out of our wardrobes these days. While I regularly wear many of my wardrobe pieces in multiple outfit posts, most often they’re my basic pieces. That’s the beauty of good basics: they can be worn over and over without calling attention to themselves.

As I mentioned in Friday’s post, my first attempt at creating a different look with this leopard jacket fell flat. I’d styled it with subdued earth-tones, going for an “elegant neutral” look, but the overall effect was rather muddy and drab. I like this MUCH better.

I’ve actually been searching for a leopard coat or jacket for decades. I’ve rolled up the sleeves as they’re just a little bit long and I haven’t had time yet to get them shortened. Apologies again that this particular coat is no longer available, but leopard coats seem to be on-trend this year, so your chances of finding one you like may be better than average. I’ve included a few options in the widget below.

pearl necklace with vintage medallion

I’ve also re-mixed this pearl necklace from French Kande, swapping out a medallion from a different FK necklace. On their website, they now offer the option to customize many of the necklace styles by selecting from a choice of medallions!

block heel ankle strap pumps

I always loved the style of the Valentino Tango pumps, but ouch! They were uncomfortable across the top of my feet, even when I sized up. (Those of you with a narrower foot or lower instep may have better luck.) I found this similar style from Paul Green last year and even though the heel is a little higher, they’re quite comfortable. They’re no longer available but here’s another option that’s very close in style and with a lower heel, and lower price.

Is there a “standout” piece in your wardrobe that you’ve been able to style in different ways?
