Traditional Lemonade with cinnamon

ENG | Who doesn’t want some cool lemonade in this heat? And what about if it’s made with a sweet touch of cinnamon? Or with some horchata? I want some and now that it seems that the temperature begins to rise too much. So here you have the traditional recipe of lemonade with a little cinnamon and other combinations to try at home:

For traditional lemonade recipe with cinnamon use:

  • 2 liters of water
  • 2 unwaxed lemons, if they are organic, much better.
  • 100g of sugar
  • 1 cinnamon stick

Preparation:

  1. In a large container pour water and add the sugar with the lemon zest.
  2. Clean the cinnamon stick with a little water and add it too.
  3. Let rest everything 2-3 hours and freeze.

More variants:

  • Lemonade with lemon zest and juice, this way is a bit more acidic.
  • Lemonade with horchata, very popular here in Valencia.
  • Lemonade with beer.
  • Pink lemonade with cherry juice, strawberries and other red fruits.
  • Lemonade with thyme or rosemary.
  • Lemonade with ginger, which you should bring to the boil the water, sugar, a pinch of grated ginger and lemon zest.

There are plenty of mixes and variations of this ancient and delicious summer recipe, so if you know more let me know.
