Once considered complicated and expensive, LED lighting was typically only used in commercial settings. Times have changed, however, and LED lighting is seen as an inexpensive, environmentally friendly, consumer friendly option for lighting both indoors and outdoors. With the phasing out of incandescent lighting options, LED is becoming as popular as its predecessor.
