Le Mordant in the 10th - Colette and I entered to the incredibly warm welcome of Lucas Blanchy, who remembered me from my visit with the RFC last month and we ordered up some wine and a bowl of fries - once again, not frites the way the French do them, but real Amurican fries.

Our shared first was/were the burratina de Vincenzo with squash and grilled and chopped shiitake mushrooms which disappeared in a flash, as you can see.

For mains, our famous blogger/website friend from the nabe had the pot-au-feu of duck and Colette had the veal-stuffed cabbage, both of which I thought were underpowered aka under-spiced but the secret spices on my "Daddy Roger" BBQ pork ribs when added to my mashed potatoes or their duck and veal perked them right up.

The desserts, though, were extra-prima, as my Montenegrin hosts would say - a chocolate tart and a brioche perdu with Colette's caramel beurre-sale.

Our bill, with two bottles of wine, no bottled water but mighty fine bread and 3 coffees - oh and 3 equally mighty fine digestifs (offered) - was 134.50 E; thus 89.33333333333 E.
