Le Cercle Rouge is a place I ate at a month ago or so and returned to with Colette and two (unrelated) old friends today.  Madame thanked me twice for my review and later offered us postprandial liquids (which we accepted).

For firsts, my great French friend from the 20th ordered the eggs mayo to see "what made this house's version" special; and my pal from up the street and I had the raviolis of escargot with a thick, too heavy I thought, parsley and garlic sauce.  I thought everyone was happy, except Colette who declared the bread "ordinary."  Hummmm.

Then we more or less went our separate ways, Colette and my pal ordering the fricassee of rabbit (which for Colette was too undercooked and was sent back for remedying) with potatoes; my French friend having the spare-ribs and me - the crepinette of pied de porc.  I was the happiest camper, around me I couldn't be sure.

To finish up the ladies both had the moelleux of chocolate with caramel sauce ("OK", they declared) and I had the Illy coffee gourmand, with diced pineapple and canelés which I loved.

Our bill, with 2 bottles of wine, no bottled water and 3 coffees, was 174 E, thus 87 E a couple.
