photo recastathon_zps22561b05.jpg Jack from Lights Camera Reaction has created a blogathon for us bloggers to recast some characters in 2013 films. I have some little time and thoughts to put together some characters I wish to be played by different actors. It’s just itching me that these characters maybe could’ve been played better, and maybe the whole movie could be more excellent. So here’s my picks :

Zooey Deschanel as Mary (About Time)

McAdams was criticized by taking another leading girl role in a romance time-travel movie, About Time. They actually want Zooey Deschanel as the leading actress, but the New Girl lead and producer have scheduling issues. Maybe it was me to longing her as another lead in similar ‘story about love’ like 500 Days of Summer. But I thought she’ll be more refreshing than McAdams. Rachel McAdams already is a senior being lead in romantic movies previously, like The Notebook, The Vow and Time Traveler’s Wife. It would be great to see Deschanel as the actual soul mate girl for the guy in a romance movie. It’s a great opportunity to let go her comfort zone by being Jess in New Girl. Well, perhaps they have it right by picking her, just not on the right time.

Natalie Portman as Daisy (The Great Gatsby)

As I was trying to find who could be perfect as Daisy, it’s not easy to find the beauty quality like Carey Mulligan have. Daisy isn’t just a beautiful woman, but she’s torn between picking wealthiness and the man she love. She looks innocent but actually thinking her own safety. The only actress that can level is Natalie Portman, though she usually took more conflicted role. She’s got that great inner beauty that men could easily fall for. I don’t know if she’ll be great as a blonde though, but she did in the picture

:)
She’ll be pretty cute with pixie hair.

Will Ferrell as Walter Mitty (The Secret Life of Walter Mitty)

Actually the film have other issue than the lead. But I couldn’t help but see Stiller have lack of awkwardness and frightened as Walter. To me, the lead must look more nerdy and odd, those who used to do indoor activities and rarely go out. Seeing Will Ferrell in Stranger Than Fiction convinced me that the guy have that range. I don’t know if he would want to take another role like this, but I’d want to see it!
