Family Magazine
If you are a fan of grown up art journals, then this project might be for you. I learned long ago that layering doesn’t come naturally to children, but if you keep it simple, they can start to get the idea add some creativity to their writing.
1.
I started by writing a little about the day in very spaced out lines
with a black pen. I continued until the background was filled up.
2. I used a pencil to lightly draw a large block number (my writing was about my son turning 13).
3. I painted the background with watercolors and left the inside of the letters empty. Encourage using lots of water with the paint so that it keeps it’s transparent quality.
