Late Night Lizard

S…leaping lizards

At 3AM John ventured out into the land of the lizards (Florida backyard at the vacation rental) and found a late night lizard sleeping on a coral honeysuckle plant.

This is a brown anole lizard originally found in Cuba or the Bahamas. They love ornamental plants and they can grow to about eight inches long. They enjoy eating insects, spiders and worms. When near water the brown anole lizard might eat a small fish if it is the right size. They also like to eat cockroaches – for Florida, that is good news!
