Joe Manganiello was back reprising his role as Marshall's idiotic pal Brad, on How I Met Your Mother. This time though he looked like he had gained 20 pounds and become a homeless person. Of course it was all a scam to get info on Marshall's big case and teach Marshall not to be such a sucker. (I guess he wore a fat suit over his crazy Magic Mike abs. That wasn't the best storyline of the night though, the other two were way better. The gang declared Ted a piggy back stamper which basically meant that Ted rarely has an idea or finds something cool to put his own stamp of approval on. After watching old college videos where Ted looks like the guy from Simply Red, we found out that Ted did give his stamp of approval...on Lily. That was cute, but the best part of the show was Robin trying to negotiate the best strip club deal for Barney and then Barney turning his decision into a spoof of LeBron James's decision was old school How I Met Your Mother. The winning strip club..."Mouth Beach" get it??? To celebrate, Barney and Robin got wasted, kissed and then got all weird and AGAIN went their separate ways. We KNOW they get together...why Carter Bays? Why? Why prolong their hook up any longer? Over on The Voice CeeLo Green was dressed in Satin Red PJ's and while I didn't see his feet, I'm betting he was wearing red furry slippers. Red and black seemed to be the fashion theme of the evening. Adam looked toooo cute in his red and black flannel checkered shirt.
Xtina and Blake opened the show in the audience singing a country duet that was amazing. Xtina was dressed right. Sure her jeans were tight but her shirt and jacket were perfect to hide the droopiness. Xtina sort of reminded me of a shorter, stouter, blonder Cher.
Sylvia Yacoub started us off with "Girl on Fire". Not a great song for her, but she did a decent job.
Terry McDermott sang "Summer of 69" really really well, but I've been thinking for a while who does this guy remind me of and now I know...Mrs. Partridge.
Melanie Martinez, the girl I can't stand with the bow and the 1/2 and 1/2 hair sang a horrible version of The White Stripes "7 Nation Army". I don't think she can do much to make me like her. The camera was also way too close and I could see right up her nostrils and into her brain.
Cody Belew sang Beyonce's "Crazy in Love" Very Freddie Mercuryish looking. Horrible song choice...hated it.
Bryan Keith sang one of my favorite songs, "New York State of Mind". Hard to impress when I know the song so well but he did impress me.
Amanda Brown sang "Stars" by Grace Potter. I wasn't familiar with the song, but it was pretty powerful
Nicholas David sang "Leon on Me". He's a weird looking, weird moving dude, but I love him.
Trevin Hunt sang "Scream" just as good if not better than Usher. Hard to believe he is only 18 years old.
Cassadee Pope had the best performance of the night with "Since You Went Away".
Closing out the night, Dez Duron with a very croonery version of "Feeling Good". Not my thing but I honestly believe he could win on his looks alone.
Another episode of Real Housewives of Beverly Hills and another dinner party. This one was at Yolanda and David Foster's new home in Malibu. David Foster is definitely pretty impressed with himself and has a lot of rules about singing in when you are a guest in his home. Professionals only...no amateurs. Which didn't sit well with Taylor at all. Her faces during the entire mini concert were a bit ridiculous especially with her cartoon lips. I was totally confused by the whole thing with the butler. Was he rented or did he work for Yolanda full time? We knew him from Camille's house too. It was strange. I always thought a butler was a full time gig, but what do I know about a butlers hours?
I woke up super early this morning and figured I start watching Homeland while I made my lunch and got ready for work. The next thing I knew...I was late. OMG that show is so freaking good. I was drenched in sweat and had to go back and reapply my deodorant after watching Sunday's episode. So can you imagine walking back into the office after EVERYONE just listened to you and your "asset" having sex? Carrie didn't bat an eye. In her mind it was all for her country and matters of national security...or was it? Then when Roya or whatever her name is gets Brody and kidnaps him because she totally knows or thinks she knows what's going on and brings him to Abu Nazir for some reprogramming. It's just too good. This poor Dana...I almost forgot about Brody's daughter. Man is this chick going to need some major therapy. All she's trying to do is the right thing and NOBODY is letting her. They even paid off the daughter of the woman that was killed and she doesn't want her to go to the police either. Crazy, crazy, crazy and you know that it's going to be Dana that blows the entire show up when the time comes. Dana and Mike to the rescue. Homeland rules.
And Now, it's time for Ed's Dancing with the Stars report... “I think you captured the flavor of the caveman!” – DWTS Judge Len Goodman.
This season has been all about the whistles and bells that the producers have come up with to keep the show relevant. There’s much I hope does not return but these fusion dances are clearly here to stay, especially after tonight’s performances.
Melissa and Tony’s fusion “Caveman Hustle” was a hit that helped get them to a 57.5/60 on the night. Melissa is the only one left who hasn’t won the mirror ball trophy – yet! She’s driven, and will be making it to the finals.
If Caveman Hustle was the fusion hit of the night, Shawn and Derek’s “Knight Rider Bhangra” was the fusion hit of the season! If you watched closely, you could see how much it was enjoyed from the judge’s table.Derek’s reputation and their 59/60 will get them into the finals.
After performing their “Big Top Jazz” to mixed reviews, Apolo and Karina had a great second dance, ending the night with 57/60.But it’s too little too late for Apolo. He’ll pack it up tomorrow.
Emmit and Cheryl are fan favorites. But they’re tied for last place (54/60) after an “Espionage Lindy Hop”.Rump shaking is not getting him to the finals.
Kelly and Val took off all of their clothes and splashed around in the water tonight for their “Surfer Flamenco”. I guess this is what fans of both Dancing With The Stars and General Hospital want to see. We’ll see them next week.
I’ll have a prediction on a winner for you tomorrow. And just like Melissa Rycroft who had a tear in her eye thinking tonight may have been her last dance, I’ll be quietly choked up as my WWTM blog assignment comes to a close next week.
It's official...I'm deleting my season pass for Start Ups: Silicon Valley. Watched last night, could have cared less about any of the cast.
