Lancôme DreamTone Review

By Sassysweetstyle @ChaniaB

I appreciate the opportunity to review  the following product courtesy of Lancôme via SheSpeaks.  All thoughts & opinions are my own.

Even though I have always been diligent about wearing SPF on my face, a TON of freckles decided to dot my face this year.  While they are adorable on kiddos, this Mama is not a fan when they grace my face.  Not only do I feel like a kid, but those pesky blotches are uncooperative! They also like to peek out through my foundation which has cost me a pretty penny trying to find the perfect foundation to cover those bad boys up.   When I was approached to review Lancôme’s new DreamTone Customized Skin Tone Correcting Serum, I was THRILLED!

As part of the Lancôme DreamTone Program, I received a 1.3 oz. bottle of Skin Tone Correcting Serum in Shade 1: Fair, that retails for $98 at Lancôme.com & department stores nationwide.

By using 3-barely tinted serums  {1-Fair 2-Medium 3-Dark} Lancôme promises that DreamTone is the next generation of spot correction since it is specially formulated to reduce the appearance of dark spots, uneven skin tone & color imperfections.

So how did Lancôme DreamTone perform on my fair, freckled, sensitive & slightly red skin ?

I applied 1 pump of product twice daily under my moisturizers for 4 weeks as directed.

Pros

  1. My skin was more radiant after a few uses.
  2. After about 2 weeks, I noticed less redness.
  3. Smells like a lot of the Lancôme products I have smelled before, a clean yet floral fragrance.
  4. Did not irritate my sensitive skin.
  5. My face felt super soft after one use.
  6. Has a twist pump feature so you won’t accidentally spill/squeeze out product which is PERFECT for travel.
  7. Gorgeous pink packaging which looks super luxe in my bathroom drawer.

Cons

  1. Price tag.  It just isn’t in my budget to spend $98 for a skin care additive.
  2. Due to the color of the bottle, I can’t tell when I’m running low on product.
  3. An additional step in skin care regimen.
  4. I did not notice any improvement in my dark spots.

Verdict

Although I loved how my skin looked & felt while using Lancôme DreamTone, I am still on the fence about purchasing.  I have a hard time justifying $98 on something that did not lighten my dark spots.  I might need an additional 4 weeks of treatment however before I make my final decision.  Hopefully it will last me that long! :)
