I kept my streak alive for day 15 with 1 mile around my block this afternoon. I’m keeping my fitness pretty light because my knee is a little sore.

When I had ankle surgery they took a tendon out of my right hamstring through the front of my knee to replace the damaged one they removed from my ankle. I never had any knee problems before this, but since my knee can get a little sore if I do too my fitness. I really want it to get better without taking a huge amount of time off so I’ll probably be keeping the fitness pretty light this week.

I’m not too hungry for dinner so I’m not making anything right now. There is a rotisserie chicken in the kitchen for when the mood strikes.

On the agenda tonight: a glass of pino and some Bachelorette!

The last day at the lake: Sunday

We started up Sunday with a 1 mile run. Max and I really thought about skipping. We did so many miles Saturday and we were on vacation… but then we realized we’d been streaking for exactly 2 weeks. There’s no skipping now!!!

We ran 1 whole mile then came back to the cabin to make some breakfast.

I made oatmeal and coffee.

I made 1 packet cinnamon roll oatmeal with

  • 1/2 cup almond milk
  • water added until the liquid equaled 2/3 cup
  • 1 tbsp peanut butter
  • blueberries

I microwaved the liquid and oats until cooked then added the peanut butter and blueberries on top.

The coffee was from a Columbia Roast instant VIA packet from Starbucks. I brought a few just in case we found ourselves eating breakfast at home.

Then we enjoyed some relaxing deck time.

I decided I needed some more fruit and coffee so…

I fixed that!

Then we went on a walk through the Sugar Pine State Park, which is right outside Max’s cabin’s back yard. We walked about a mile and a half to get to the lake.

After walking around we worked up quite a lunch time appetite. We had to hit the road after lunch so we chose to eat out and not make more dishes. Everyone wanted to go back to the Fire Sign Café to try lunch!

I was really excited to try lunch since breakfast was so good!

I started with some fresh- homemade lemonade. Only on vacation!

I asked what the muffin of the day was… and it was cinnamon blueberry coffee cake muffin… but they were sold out.

I cried a little.

I ordered the bacon hamburger that came on a whole wheat bun with all the fixin’s. I had chips and salsa on the side.

Everything was so good. I felt like I was on a picnic.

Holy how do you get your mouth around all that?!

We were on the road home by 3pm and we stopped in Santa Nella for some In-N-Out!

It’s not a road trip in California without some In-N-Out Burger.
