iPhone charging cases are fairly common game these days and can be found nearly anywhere, we even covered one back in the hay day of the site, however cases that charged up your iPad are a bit rarer, and ones that not only charge your iPad, but are in protective cases that also include a smart cover, are about as rare a breed as you can get. Kudo’s KudoSol Solar Charging Case fo the iPad mini is n of the few such products out there. Yes, I said solar charging, which might sound more like a novalty versus actual functionality, but in this case, its full-on functionality. The faux leather folio case has an integrated 5,000mAh battery, which can charge your encased iPad with the built-in Lightning plug.
You can read on below as we start using the KudoSol and what our initial opinions are prior to writing the official review next week.

Kudosol: First Battery UseSo looks like the charge the case had out if the box, charged my dead iPad mini up to 42%
Not bad
The power button takes a little effort to push. Had to use tip of my finger and nail to actually depress the button, and while that could be viewed as annoying to some, not me, just means it’s much less likely to accidentally be pressed
