I’m going to spoil this Knob Creek 15 Years 2022 review by letting you know upfront that it’s just as good this year as it was last year. But did you really expect anything less?
Seriously? I mean I didn’t. I didn’t expect a well-matured, carefully selected bourbon to be garbage. I expected it to be ok at worst, but this 2022 release keeps pace with the 2021 without losing a step and continues to prove that older, non-chill filtered, Jim Beam is truly tasty bourbon.
Let’s get to drinkin’!

EYE
Mahogany
NOSE
Oak, dried dark fruit, toasted graham, roasted nuts, leather, vanilla frosting, citrus peels, cocoa and a touch of menthol.
This is a mouth-watering aroma, it’s heavy and rich and… damn.
PALATE
Oak, dried dark fruit, leather, cocoa, toasted marshmallows, nuts, baking spice, and citrus peels.
Palate is a bit muted compared to the aroma, it’s not quite as rich and full, but it’s also not bad. Quite good in fact.
FINISH
Long -> Oak and cocoa fade to leather and baking spice.
BALANCE, BODY and FEEL
Well-balanced, med-full body and a velvety feel.
Knob Creek 15 Years 2022 – Overall Thoughts and Score
This is good. If they keep up these amazing yearly releases, it could supplant Booker’s as my favorite “available” Jim Beam product. And yes, I know, available is a loaded word these days. That’s why it’s in quotes.
As of right now this beats most of the Booker’s releases in the last couple of years and the reason it hasn’t already beat out Booker’s is consistency. I have a decade and a half of love for Booker’s and that’s a hard thing to beat out with just a few releases. But another two or three releases like this, with a proven track record of being consistently good and will take the cake.
SCORE: 4/5 (good, definitely recommend ~ B+ | 87-89)
