Knitiffi

By Bertyc @bertyc
Today I went to check out the knitted boat outside the Arnolfini.  People had been tweeting about it, BBC Bristol had it on their website.  When I got to the Arnolfini I couldn't see it straight away and panicked slightly.  I know it's only there until tomorrow but I thought it had gone a day early.  As if life was that cruel.  To my relief it was still there.
In case you haven't heard about this project, Knitiffi are a group woven together (sorry, it had to be done) by knitting graffiti, such as this project.  They are made up of staff and service users of Milstones Trust, a Bristol based health and social care charity.  And they covered a 20ft boat in knitting, which I think is pretty cool.  Any charity using craft to improve people's health is a good thing in my book.  I think crafting and making things can be an amazing tool for improving mental health.
Anyway, to find out more about Knitiffi check out their blog.  It's pretty cool, hopefully we'll see more from them in the future.
And quick, before it disappears, it really is a sight to behold. KnitiffiKnitiffi
