Kiwi Banana Smoothie

By Tasneem Rajkotwala @tasu0704

Having a toddler at home means the mind is continiously at work, thinking of putting together a meal that will be enjoyed at the dining table. Today morning I spotted some bananas in a fruit bowl turning dark and next what I knew was using them up before they had to be thrown away. Banana milkshake is one that is favorite in our house, anytime of the day with any mix of fruits or ice cream. Blitzing up some fresh and sweet kiwis in a smoothie with bananas is a marriage made in heaven. Not to forget, the amount of healthy dose of nutrients that the body gets with this wonderful smoothie in no time. I was sorted for the breakfast – smoothie with some poached eggs made for an amazing meal.

Since it is also getting hotter during the day, I am constantly coming up with shakes, juices, cocktails, smoothies, ice creams and popsicles to lift up our spirits. The other day I made mango kulfi from the mangoes we bought from Al Aweer Market and it was an instant hit in the house. I mainly love summer for all the indulgence in chilled desserts we get which is otherwise very limited during the time of winter season. I chilled my fruits for banana and kiwi smoothie just for half an hour but you can either use frozen bananas or blend ice cubes with the fruits. Sugar, as well is optional since the fruits are known to be sweet.
