To be honest, I've never seen or heard of tools that can slice oranges and remove pits in cherries. I was anxiously waiting to give this a try - and absolutely loving both of them! I've pictures and my thoughts of these two "Kitchen Gizmo" products for you here.
The orange slicer definitely cuts oranges evenly and perfectly. It is simple to use. There are three pieces in this gizmo - the orange holder, blade and the bowl. First, the blade and bowl are put together, then the orange is placed in the holder and a simple press and flip will give you the evenly cut pieces. Pardon my not so well-taken video, the tool does work brilliantly. There is no need to put as much as pressure as you would think. The blades are not accessible, therefore, feels safer compared to knives. Overall, I give this a five star and look forward to enjoying seedless oranges this season.
Next, here's my feedback on the cherry pitter - it works! The pits were removed and they fell in the container on the bottom. It comes pretty much assembled; all I had to do was fix the little plastic to catch the pitted cherries. I've a short demo and a few pictures as well here. The tool itself is well made and will last a long time if handled well. This kitchen gadget is perfect for someone who loves to bake cherry pies or pastries. I don't have anything to complain about both these gizmos! Hope you found my reviews useful!
