Welcome to New York and another fabulous Kips Bay Showhouse full of 18 designer rooms! I've highlighted some of my favorite rooms in this year's home on East 65th Street.
Savage Interior Design from Nashville tackled the foyer with a black and white wallpaper by M J Atelier. The mix of mirrors and pattern united the architectural arches.
The paper was looked as if the design was hand cut.
My favorite room was by Susan Ferrier of McAlpine from Atlanta. Always the master of the dark moody colors, this is an example of that style. Large scale art, a collection of archaeological prints, floating bed in the center of the room, tone on tone walls and fabrics all help to unite the room.
Luxurious but also thoughtful in the placement of items. I'm obsessed with finding the perfect accessories and this room does it so perfectly.
The Ken Fulk Dining room was fantastical with its kelly green paint and zoo creatures from the De Gournay wallpaper. It's all about the amazing flowers and colors in this room.
Even the place settings carried on the zoo theme. Beautiful raspberry accents on emerald green velvet.
Notice there was no center chandelier but smaller hanging lights around the room. Perfect for the large scale florals that graced the tables with their petals flooding the floor.
I loved the Scandinavian inspired room by Neal Beckstedt with its sherpa covered arm chair and mid century vibe. As any of you know I am currently obsessed with this style.
The fireplace with its metal sculptural hood was incredible.
Cement tiles cover the floor under a brightly covered Moroccan rug full of purples, creams and oranges.
Beautiful and creative landscape in the courtyard by Janice Parker. A nod to the origin of the house to the Chinese Institute of America. She created a Zen like atmosphere with bamboo and stones.
