Amazon has released a duo of affordable tablets called the Fire HD 6 and Fire HD 7, which will be launched on October 2. The starting price for a Fire HD 6 with 8GB of storage will be only $99.
HD 6: 169 x 103 x 10.7 mm, 290 grams
HD 7: 191 x 128 x 10.6 mm, 337 grams
Both tablets are powered by a quad-core processor with two 1.2GHz cores and two 1.5GHz cores, and they come with 1GB of RAM, and either 8GB or 16GB of built-in storage. In terms of connectivity, you get single-band Wi-Fi, and microUSB 2.0 port.
The HD 6 sports a 6” display, a resolution of 1280 x 800 pixels, and a pixel density of ~252ppi, while the HD 7 comes with a 7” screen, a resolution of 1280 x 800 pixels, and a pixel density of ~216ppi.
Other specs include a 2-megapixel main camera and a front-facing VGA shooter, dual-stereo speakers (HD 7), a mono speaker (HD 6), and Android-based Amazon Fire OS 4.
