I like to have a kinder’s first art project be a happy balance of not too hard, not too easy, and still something “finished” looking marking their entry into elementary school art lessons.
1. After reading “Little Green” by Keith Baker, which is all about different kinds of lines. Students used a pencil to make four lines across the paper, zig-zag, curly, wavy and their own favorite.
2. The lines are traced with a chisel tip black Sharpie marker.
3. Crayons are used to color in the different areas.
4. The paper is glued to a larger black paper with a glue stick.
