KidsFest 2014 HK live theater adaptations from best-selling literary works, KidsFest is Hong Kong’s largest children’s theatre festival in English, and its back in Hong Kong for its third edition! The festivities will once again be staged at the Drama Theatre, Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts from 15 January to 16 February 2014.

KidsFest 2014 will be by far the biggest one yet! The core of the festival comprises of nine live theatre adaptations of best-selling literary works: The Gruffalo, The Gruffalo’s Child, We’re Going on a Bear Hunt, The Snow Dragon, What The Ladybird Heard, The Boy Who Cried Wolf, Horrible Histories Terrible Tudors, Horrible Histories Awful Egyptians and Private Peaceful.

All nine shows are performed by professional theater groups from London’s West End and will be complemented by interactive educational workshops hosted by the performing companies. This year, get even more out of the performances with KidsFest+, a new addition that adds an extra layer of interactivity to the festivities. For selected shows, audience can meet the talented people behind the show up close in special meet and greet sessions and director Q&A’s after the performances.

For the first time, KidsFest is expanding to Manila so that audiences of all ages all around Asia can have the chance to experience the magic of the stage live!  KidsFest 2014 is brought to Hong Kong, Singapore and Manila by ABA Productions, an international theatre production company dedicated to creating and promoting a wide variety of performance styles  from all corners of the world.

“With the over-whelming response from the last year’sedition of KidsFest, this year is the largest ever edition,” says Matthew Gregory, Executive Producer of ABA Productions, “The number of productions has increased from 5 to 9, which include shows suiting different age groups. KidsFest has been an important children’scultural performance in Asia with performancesin Hong Kong, Singapore and Manila.  And I truly hope the newly added festive elements can bring better fun to our young audiences for enjoying drama, learning English, while also getting a taste of culture through it.”
