Thanks to everyone who entered my holiday art contest at Intuition. It was very hard to choose just three winners, but here are the talented kids who each won a $100 gift card from Michaels:
Keili from Diamond Bar, California, whose art teacher, Wendy Wu, submitted her drawing. Wendy said, “I'm a contract based art instructor at Walnut Elementary School. I also teach at my studio and Keili is one of my students who loves art. The Nutcracker is one of my favorite lessons because the students learn about lines, shapes, and colors, and it only took one class session.”
Ashley Hunt’s student Kaylee, from Plain City, Utah, won a Michaels gift card, too. Ashley said, “I'm a schoolteacher and I teach third grade. I use Kathy Barbro's Art Projects for Kids blog weekly to find ideas to implement quality art into my classroom. She has great ideas that are practical and easy to do.”
Erica, a sixth-grade student of teacher Pamela Goosen in British Columbia, who told us, “The nutcracker art caught my eye as I thought it would be a great lesson on drawing and symmetry for my grade six students. The class enjoyed this project, and they turned out wonderfully!”
Stay tuned in to the Mom's Toolkit at Intuition as more great drawing tutorials will be posted soon!
