The Makeup Show is partnering with Kevyn Aucoin Beauty to showcase never-before-seen pieces from Kevyn Aucoin’s life work, celebrating his dedication to the art of makeup. The Makeup Show Icon Gallery will provide a glimpse inside his professional and personal life that exhibit his achievements in the beauty industry, share special moments from his life, and bring us behind-the-scenes to view some of his most important and inspiring work.

The Makeup Show is thrilled to have an opportunity to continue their mission of education, inspiration and access to the biggest artists and brands in the business with the first-ever, The Makeup Show Icon Gallery. It will give artists who have been in the industry and been inspired by these leading artists, as well as those just starting out in the industry, to see the process, personal possessions, and get a look at the professional tools and techniques that have made their way into the makeup artists lexicon.

The Makeup Show Director of Artist Relations, James Vincent says, “Like so many of my fellow makeup artists the work of Kevyn Aucoin was and is a huge inspiration for me. Having had the ability to assist Kevyn. I feel so lucky to have learned from a legend, but even far before that, his work was the first time I really became aware that there were makeup artists in the fashion world. It was Kevyn’s makeup for the September 1994 issue of Harper’s Bazaar that inspired me. His cover of Nadja Auermann in a smoldering smokey eye inspired me to pursue a career in makeup. I never looked back.”
This exclusive Icon Gallery is open to all Makeup Show attendees, and it will be a part of all Makeup Shows in 2014 with a new artist highlighted at every destination.
