So far this summer it's been BOILING hot and I don't know if it's the British influence of not having direct sunlight for almost 7 years, but I can't handle the heat and the blazing sun anymore. I know — bad, bad Chilena. Here's a little example...
Besides keeping hydrated and avoiding over heating (which has happened to me!) I make sure to avoid sun exposure on my face for long periods of time. I wear mositurizer with SPF and apply even more when being outside — like on this family walk! I carry a tube of Neutrogena Ultra Sheer Dry-Touch Sunblock (SPF 45) in my bag — and the heavy duty Beach Defense comes with us to the pool, spray parks or longer outings.
And then of course, I keep my family "lathered up." My husband burns in shade — that's how sensitive he is. However he is super porfiado (stubborn) and I actually have to corner him and make him put suncream on. Thankfully he does it so that my my son will too — luckily M has a "hint of tint" thanks to his Chilean side and has a beautiful golden summer glow.
Papi and M both wearing sunblock — see how he sun hits his neck even in the shade?
My sweet 5 month old Little L on the other hand is covered under sun hats, canopy shades and her Snoozeshade — at this rate she's looking like Michael Jackson's kids when she's out in public. HA! (remember he would cover them up??) Like everything else, it's me who has to make sure we are all sun safe — I have to chase everyone around but in the end I get what I want! With all that said and done, I hadn't thought that many parents can't afford to buy sunblock for their families and Neutrogena has stepped in with the Buy 1 + Donate 1 Campaign. For every Neutrogena product with SPF purchased this summer, they will donate one to a family in need — up to 10 million dollars.
And as a lover of all things beauty, best thing about the Neutrogena Ultra-Sheer Sunblock is that's it's light, great on sensitive skin (I break out with regular sunblock) non-greasy and doesn't leave a nasty residue on your face when you sweat. ¡Me encanta!
Enjoy the sun and stay safe!
¡besos!
