I received the Silk Keratin The Miracle Mask ($48) at a perfect time, because my hair stylist recently informed me that the back of my hair was suffering from breakage and getting drier than the rest of my hair. I know that being fiercely loyal to a flat iron and usually using it on the HIGHEST setting over the years didn't help (I now only use a flat iron one time every other day on a low setting), and I have had my hair highlighted twice within the last few years.
I didn't want to resort to getting a short haircut since I'm trying to let my hair grow. So, I asked my stylist what could I possibly do to salvage my hair. She quickly recommended that using a hair mask at least once a week would help repair my hair. I've noticed little by little improvement since I've been using the Silk Keratin The Miracle Mask once a week for about a month now. The most significant difference I've noticed are fewer split ends. This mask is formulated with avocado oil, keratin protein, silk protein, and white carnation oil to give it the nourishment and moisture that my hair so desperately needs. It also protects hair against heat during thermal styling.
I also received the Silk Keratin Sulfate-Free Shampoo ($24) and Silk Keratin $26) Conditioner. I'm really selective about what kind of shampoo I use since many of them make my hair overly dry and unmanageable. I wouldn't go as far as to say that this shampoo and conditioner is my top favorite. Again, I'm utterly picky! However, both make my hair feel very soft and squeaky clean sans the overly dry look and feel that most shampoos are notoriously known to do to my hair. It also helps that both products smell really good.
Lastly, I received the Titanium Ultra Pro Flat Iron (1.75"; $129). It's everything that I want and seek in a flat iron - lightweight, adjustable temperature, good results, and one that will cause the least havoc on hair. Let's be truthful, they all do, ESPECIALLY if you use one on a regular basis, on a high setting, and/or more than once a day. I've learned that you don't have to do this to get good results with a flat iron. Going back to a previous statement, I use this flat iron one time every other day on a low setting, yet it still provides good enough results without causing major damage in the process. I noticed a lot of breakage with my last flat iron (even on a low setting), so I could hardly wait to find one that won't damage my hair. I wanted a good flat iron, but I didn't want to spend a lot of money on one. Luckily, this one came at the right moment. I highly recommend this flat iron if you're looking for one that will provide satisfactory results without you having to break the bank.
