Keep Calm I’m Turning 40 – I’m Treating Myself Big Time
Every day it seems like time is moving faster and faster. In little less than a month, I’ll be saying goodbye to my flirty thirties and hello to my fabulous forties. As I reflect on my thirties, I can say I had an incredible, fantastic, and excellent decade. My thirties were awesome to say the least; I spent most of my twenties married, and almost all of my thirties divorced. I learned so much about myself, and I appreciated the freedom, I grew up just a little bit, and each year, I strived to be a better me.
Next month, I’ll be embarking on a new journey! Same me, but I’m just a little older, a little wiser, and a lot more fabulous. I’ll be the first to admit that it’s a bit scary wondering what the forties will have in store for me, but I’ve come to learn that scary can sometimes be a good thing, and change can be even better. As each decade passes, you should not be the same person. Hell, as each year passes you should not be the same person! Life has taught me some useful lessons. Some I learned the easy way and some I learned the hard way. However, life was never meant to be easy; otherwise we would not appreciate all of the wonderful times that life grants us.
The end of last year, I contemplated what to do to celebrate the big 40. I didn’t want a party, nor did I wish to do anything that I normally did to celebrate my birthday. I decided to treat myself to a nice vacation; someplace that would require a passport. Someplace that was different than my usual Caribbean beach vacations. I wanted an adventure that would show me a different part of the world. So, I hopped online and booked what I know would be a great vacation. I’m not saying where I’m going, but stay tuned because it is definitely my intention to blog about my whereabouts.
As for turning 40, I keep telling myself to keep calm I’m turning 40.
