Dead body of deceased National Accountability Bureau (NAB) official Kamran Faisal reached his home town Mian Channu for burial today. His family members has alleged that Kamran has been murdered as his body bore torture marks. Talking to media his uncle said that he has himself witnessed torture marks on arms, wrist and back of Kamran.
Kamran Faisal, Assistant director NAB was found dead in his room in Federal Lodges Islamabad. His body found hanging from ceiling fan which gave rise to speculation that he has committed suicide. Kamran was working on high-profile corruption case which involves prime minister of the country as well. NAB officials has said that he was under stress due to this high-profile case and has requested authorities to disassociate him from the case.
Some of his colleagues at NAB has disclosed on condition of anonymity that Kamran was under pressure from NAB officials to change his investigation report on RPP case but he refused to budge. Based on his investigation report Supreme Court of Pakistan has ordered to arrest all the accused including prime minister Raja Pervez Ashraf.
Mohammad Iqbal, maternal uncle of Kamran Faisal has claimed that he was receiving threatening calls from unknown circles.
Based on the circumstances, Police has declared it a case of suicide. Inspector General Police has constituted a high-powered committee to investigate the mysterious death of Kamran Faisal. Autopsy of the deceased body was conducted at Poly Clinic hospital Islamabad by a six member medical board. No statement was issued thereafter.
After completion of formalities, dead body of Kamran Faisal was handed over to his maternal uncle who later shifted it to Mian Channu by road. Funeral player will be held today and he will be buried in ancestral village. He was the only son of his parents and has left widow and two daughters to mourn.
